The Crossing 2003

	Tuesday 17th June, Tigh na Sgìre, Portree "Migration of Songs from Scotland to North America" a concert featuring Sara Grey, Jimmy Hutchison, Kieron Means, Ellen Mitchell and Tom Spiers Wednesday 18th June, Aros, Portree Portree Local History Society presents an evening of archive films from Skye. A film from PEI to be shown also. A small exhibition of PEI related material will be mounted for the event.
Thursday 19th June, Venue TBC Local genealogists Norma MacLeod & Marjorie MacInnes will give an introduction to the problems and challenges of genealogical research on migrants from Skye to PEI. Friday 20th June, West Wing, Raasay House, Raasay. PM Presentation by Raasay Heritage Society on Raasay Past & Present with particular reference to people who left for PEI. (Time TBC) Evening. West Wing, Raasay House at 8pm. Across the Sea - A Null Thairis air Sàil - Concert in association with Raasay Community Council during which the PEI Anniversary music commission will be 'premiered' also featuring 'Dance Called America'. Local and PEI musicians taking part.
	Saturday 21st June, Portree PM "Siùcar nan Craobh" or Sugar From Trees - a community drama featuring local actors, musicians etc which tells the story of the departure of the 'Polly'. Evening Concert featuring Cliar and Peat Bog Faeries together with PEI musicians. Skye Gathering Hall, Portree. Monday 23nd June, Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, Sleat Sleat Historical Society in association with SEALL present evening of archive/PEI films at SMO
Tuesday 24th, June, Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, Sleat Across the Atlantic: the Skye-Raasay migration to Prince Edward Island,1803-2003 ~ a seminar celebrating the 200th anniversary of the Selkirk Emigration from Skye and Raasay to PEI. Evening: Sabhal Mòr Ostaig Across the Sea - A Null Thairis air Sàil. Concert in association with SEALL featuring the PEI Anniversary music commission and a new interpretation of a 'Dance Called America'. Local and PEI musicians taking part. Evening: "Isles of Contentment" Concert by SLYMM featuring music of emigration, Community Centre, Portree. Wednesday 25th June, Kilmuir Community Hall Across the Sea - A Null Thairis air Sàil. Concert in association with Fèis Throndarnais
	Thursday 26th June, Aros, Portree. Across the Sea - A Null Thairis air Sàil. Concert Friday 27th June, Sabhal Mòr Ostaig Official opening of the National Centre for Migration Studies, 3pm. (Contact Nicola MacKay 01471 888000 if interested in attending this event)
Saturday 28th June, Aros, Portree Fiddlers' Rally with PEI flavour An Drochaid's annual Fiddlers' Rally will feature a mix of traditional tunes from Scotland and Prince Edward Island. Guest fiddler for the evening will be Roy Johnstone from PEI www.skyemusic.org Monday 14th July, Sabhal Mòr Ostaig Talk on Skye & Raasay's connection with PEI as part of this year's Feis an Eilein.
